Years ago, this live oak apparently fell over in a storm. But some portion of its roots must have held on to the earth just enough. And even that tenuous grasp onto a source of water, nutrition, and stability–however small–kept it alive. And from a fallen and crooked trunk, a beautiful tree grew.
Storms come. Storms are inevitable. And some storms can blow you over and alter your direction entirely.
But if even some small portion of your roots stays grounded in a source of life, you can still grow. This usually takes patience, persistence, and wise guidance, and you may not end up looking like you had previously expected, but your new life can offer beauty to the world and shade to those who rest under your sheltering branches.
John Cannon I so needed this. Love to read your writing. God is using you in a mighty way.
